AGUNSA takes part in SalmonChile Summit 2026, the leading strategic forum in southern Chile
On May 6, AGUNSA participated in the third edition of the SalmonChile Summit, one of the most relevant gatherings for Chile’s aquaculture industry, held at Teatro del Lago in Frutillar.
Framed within the celebration of SalmonChile’s 40th anniversary and under the theme “Certainty for Sustainable Growth”, the event brought together industry representatives, companies linked to the sector, and government authorities — including the President of the Republic, José Antonio Kast — creating a space for dialogue around the main challenges and opportunities shaping the future of salmon farming in Chile.
With more than 1,200 in-person attendees and strong digital audience reach, the Summit established itself as a key forum to analyze the present and future of an industry that today represents close to 15% of Chile’s non-mining exports and is the country’s second-largest export product overall.

A strategic sector and its challenges
Salmon farming has become a fundamental economic and social engine for southern Chile, driving productive development, job creation, and decentralization. Nevertheless, its growth also presents significant challenges, including the need to advance toward greater regulatory certainty, strengthen environmental sustainability, foster technological innovation, and improve relationships with local communities and territories.
These topics were central to the discussion during Summit 2026, which also addressed long-term initiatives such as the development of the Salmon Plan 2050, as well as the role of digitalization and artificial intelligence in optimizing productive and logistics processes.

A program focused on the country’s future
The event featured a high-level program with the participation of leading figures from the business and academic worlds. Among them were executives from companies operating in the region, who reflected on how certain industries manage to position themselves as a source of national pride, as well as experts who analyzed Chile’s future in terms of economic development, innovation, and digital transformation.
The Summit also concluded with a panel featuring government authorities, who discussed the public policies needed to strengthen sector competitiveness and move toward sustainable growth with greater certainty for investment.

Commitment to a key industry for Chile
For AGUNSA, participating in forums such as this is essential to remain closely connected to its clients’ needs and the challenges faced by a strategic industry for the country. The company has extensive experience in providing logistics and maritime services to the salmon farming sector, supporting its development with comprehensive solutions tailored to an increasingly demanding and dynamic environment.
In this way, AGUNSA’s presence at the SalmonChile Summit 2026 reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the sector, contributing its expertise to an efficient, safe logistics chain aligned with the industry’s sustainability and future growth challenges.
