AGUNSA to invest and operate Barbados International Airport

Along with the Private Office of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook AI Maktoum of Dubai, Agencias Universales S.A. of Chile (AGUNSA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Barbados towards a new Public Private Partnership for the investment, development, and operation of the Barbados´ Grantley Adams International Airport.

The investment of approximately BDS $300 million (USD $147 million), seeks to enhance the customer experience, a hemispheric cargo hub, modernize the infrastructure and develop retail revenues, linking these investments with initiatives for new airlift and hotel capacity.

AGUNSA has over 25 years of experience transporting millions of passengers and cargo reliably and safely in several international airports. With this agreement the company will expand their operations and coverage in Latin America and the Caribbean, contributing to the country’s economy by improving airport infrastructure and promoting tourism during the 30-year concession period.
