Ecuador: Manta Port Terminal is recognized as the best BASC Company in the Maritime sector

During the XII International Congress of BASC Security the Manta Port Terminal (TPM) was awarded as the best BASC (safe international trade) in the 2018 sector of Maritime and Fluvial Port Terminal.  This based on the recertification of BASC Standard 5-2017 obtained in terms of compliance with objectives, risk management (matrix, measurement and management), commitment of senior management, knowledge and agreements with business associates, certification audits, monitoring and recertification, and both security and surveillance in the facilities.  In the same manner, a triple certification was also achieved in ISO 9001:2015 (Quality), ISO 14001:2015 (Environment) and OHSAS 18001:2007 (Industrial Safety) standards, along with overcoming the ISPS audit process, becoming creditors of the declaration of compliance with a term of five years.

In this regard, the General Manager for Manta Port Terminal, Samuel Franco, stated that “these achievements only accentuate even more the work that TPM has been doing at the Port of Manta, not only at the cargo levels, but also in the importance of having a safe port for all of those that work on a daily basis there.  We still have a lot more to do, what we see now is only the beginning of bigger projects that we want to carry out, so we will continue to work with the same conviction, enthusiasm and dedication, investing in the development of the Port, the City, of the Province and the Country, because this is a great port for a great city,” he concluded.
