K-Line and AGUNSA partner to create KAR Logistics S.A.

On August 4th, K-Line, the Japanese shipping company, leader in the maritime transport of all types of vehicles, and AGUNSA, a leading Chilean company in logistics, land transport and storage, created the automotive logistics company, “KAR Logistics S.A.”, with regional coverage in Latin America.

Due to the continuous growth in the import of vehicles to Chile and the region, an opportunity arose to create a new automotive logistics operator in the market.

The proposal of KAR Logistics, with an initial investment of $ 5 million USD, is to offer to all automotive and automobile manufacturers in Chile, and in the region, an integral service in transport, storage, providing accessories, pre-delivery and distribution to the dealers located both in Santiago and in the regions.

KAR Logistics has two cross-docking and storage yards, located 6 kilometers from the port of San Antonio, and also in Noviciado, in the commune of Pudahuel (Santiago).  Together they have a capacity to store more than 7,000 cars.

In addition, they have their own fleet of specialized chassis for transport and distribution of vehicles, all equipped with GPS.

Since May, they have been operating with General Motors, and their network of dealers.
