Manta Terminal obtains international trade insurance certificate

Until July of 2018, it will be operating under the Inland Waterway Port Terminal standard.

The Port Terminal of Manta (TPM) received the International Standard of Security Business Alliance for Secure Commerce (BASC) certification, when it passed all the stages of the audit.  Geanina Furlan, the Executive Director for BASC, delivered the certification to Samuel Franco Caicedo, the General Manager of TPM.

“This certificate has been issued under Inland Waterway Port Terminal standard, with Port Service reach to Manta, Ecuador, and comprises the period from July 31st, 2017 until July 31st, 2018,” said the Executive Director of BASC, Umiña.

Meanwhile, the Manager for TPM, emphasized the value that the certification represents for the Port of Manta, one of the most important and safe, not only in the country, but in the region, which strengthens internally and externally the security mechanisms of its facilities. The company is in the process of obtaining the ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications.

C-TPAT, validated TPM as a safe port in April, due to the robustness of its procedures.  This new certification is added to the first agreement for inter-institutional cooperation between the Port Terminal of Manta and the Integrated Security Service, ECU 911.
