ONE Sapphire arrives in Chile for the first time: a milestone in sustainability and global connectivity

The Port of Iquique welcomed the ONE Sapphire, one of the most modern and sustainable vessels operated by Ocean Network Express (ONE). With a capacity of over 13,800 TEU and 1,700 reefer connections, the vessel marks the launch of the AX1 service in Chile, strengthening the trade route between Asia and South America.

Built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, the ONE Sapphire features cutting-edge technology, including hybrid ballast water treatment systems and readiness for alternative fuels such as methanol and ammonia—reinforcing ONE’s environmental commitment.
