AGUNSA Welcomes the First Cruise Ship of the Season in San Antonio

The arrival of the SBN Pursuit on Wednesday, October 29 marked the beginning of the cruise season at the Port of San Antonio. AGUNSA led the operation with comprehensive logistics that ensured top-quality service.

Around 19:00, DP World San Antonio received the SBN Pursuit, the first cruise ship of the season. AGUNSA, through its Agency team, was in charge of coordinating a full-scale logistics operation that enabled efficient and safe service for the vessel.

From docking at the pier, provisioning, delivery of spare parts, waste removal, crew change, and passenger assistance to the scheduled departure, each stage was executed with precision.

“Prior to the ship’s arrival, a meeting was held with all local authorities to plan the vessel’s entire stay. This coordination between AGUNSA, PDI, Carabineros, Customs, SAG, and the port allowed the operation to run flawlessly. The client left satisfied, which speaks highly of the teamwork,” said Erick Contreras, Branch Manager of San Antonio.

“Receiving a cruise ship means activating a complete logistics network, where every detail matters to ensure a flawless operation,” explained Lukas, Key Account Manager at AGUNSA. The company maintained constant communication with port authorities, immigration, customs, and other key stakeholders, allowing it to anticipate requirements and meet the demanding standards of international cruise lines.

“One of the most important and delicate aspects is provisioning logistics, which must be closely aligned with the crew and passenger turnover to avoid any delays or issues. In this regard, AGUNSA ensured a smooth operation, meeting both timelines and client expectations,” stated Alessandro Bacigalupo, VP of the Agency and Bunkering Division.

To respond in real time to various requirements, AGUNSA deployed dedicated personnel and vehicles, and incorporated new technological tools to optimize administrative processes. These innovations are part of the company’s continuous improvement strategy aimed at delivering excellent service to its clients.

AGUNSA thus reaffirms its commitment to the development of maritime tourism in Chile, playing a key role in the experience of every cruise ship that arrives in the country. “We are proud to have been part of this operation and thank the entire team who made it possible,” concluded Alessandro Bacigalupo.
